PAUL MAC 'PANIC ROOM'

As some Disso fans may know Paul Mac has been hard at work on his second solo album. Below is a message from Paul telling us all about it. You can now listen to the first two tracks from the album at www.paulmac.com.au where you can also subscribe to the mailing list and be alerted to release dates etc.

Hey folks,

It's been a while between drinks I must say, but as you may have heard on the radio or in the clubs I'm perilously close to being back with a new album "Panic Room" (also the name of my studio). I've been working on it for about 4 years (in between Dissociative stuff) and it's all very thunderbolt of lightening... very, very frightening!! and exciting being about to give birth to my new musical baby.

The first single is a bit of a double A side, with the track "Panic Room" featuring Lenka (you may know her from such bands as Decoder Ring) and "Sunshine Eyes" featuring my soul sister peta morris. There are some cool remixes including my own Stereogamous extension, a pumping workout by Melbourne faves Ivan Gough and Grant Smillie, and a collaboration with Nick Littlemore from pnau. Hope you like it!

Stay tuned for website rebuild with cool new features, and I'll try to keep you posted as info comes to hand, feet and lips!

Love to youse, and thanks for coming
mac!

p.s. see ya at Homebake if not before.

THE DISSOCIATIVES ANNOUNCE EUROPEAN TOUR

With the release of their self titled album in Europe this month The Dissociatives have just announced a tour of the region.

These shows will be the first ever live dates for The Dissociatives in Europe. The band features Daniel Johns from Silverchair and Australian groove guru, Paul Mac. Their debut single, "Young Man, Old Man”, is currently enjoying strong support from radio and TV across the region.

"We actually put the band together for an Australian concert tour and it was so much fun performing the songs live", says Paul Mac. "We’re just super excited that we are now going to be playing to audiences across Europe. It’s going to be a blast!”

The Dissociatives album is also receiving critical acclaim such as:

“Johns and Mac’s music throbs with a hyper-detailed instrumental landscape. The Dissociatives lose touch with reality in gorgeous fashion.” (Mojo)

"...unlike anything ever produced by an Australian act. A pop/rock record for the ages, to be placed up alongside your Beatles and Beach Boys' discs" **** (Rolling Stone)

“…the intricate melodic sweep of Crowded House… and inventive backdrops… smart and brave in equal measures.” (Q Mag)

The first shows to be announced for the band’s tour in June are:

Fri 3 Islington Academy, London

Sun 5 Postbahnhof, Berlin

Mon 6 Gruenspan, Hamburg

Wed 8 Melkweg, Amsterdam
